After the Hierophant, we can see in the Major Arcana of Tarot how the Lovers marked with the number six (VI) enter adult life. In this card we see two figures: a woman and a man, who are standing naked in a garden reminiscent of the biblical Eden. However, the lack of clothing is not accidental, because it indicates their openness and breaking with previous dogmas, in which they came to maturity. They are by two trees, which symbolize knowledge (Eve) and life (Adam). Above them, an angel emerges from the clouds and greets them with a friendly and blessing gesture. The Lovers is like no other in Tarot, pointing to pure love, and we can see it in the symbol of the sun visible in the clear sky. In the distance, on the other hand, there is a tall, red mountain, which points to the peaks of human emotion. The Lovers, however, speaks not only about love, but above all about making a conscious choice based on reason and feelings. The whole difficulty of this card lies precisely in the ability to bring these two opposites together. Very often, then, the Lovers points to an actual choice between two paths in our lives. It is a beautiful symbol that brings happiness and joy, but sometimes also a crossroads.
